National Offer Day for Middle and High Schools – Sunday 2nd M

Dear parents / carers

As National Offer Day for Middle and High Schools is on Sunday 1st March 2020, you will receive either an email (if applied online) or letter (by post) informing you which school your child has been allocated on Monday 2nd March 2020.  If you do not get the school place you wanted for your child you will receive a refusal letter by second class post on Monday 2nd March 2020.

What can you do if you do not get a place at your preferred choice of school?

1)      North Tyneside Council admissions advise you to accept the place you are offered to make sure your child will have a school place in September 2020 – even if this is not your preferred school.  You can still appeal or go on a waiting list at another school if you do this, but this ensures your child has a place at a school.  If you do not want to accept the place and do not let North Tyneside Council admissions know they will presume that you have accepted the school place and will forward your child’s name and details to the allocated school.

2)      You can request your child’s name is placed on a waiting list for their preferred school.  Instructions regarding how to do this will be on the refusal letter.  Waiting lists will not be established until after Monday 16th March 2020.  North Tyneside Council admissions will reallocate any places that become available after Friday 20th March 2020.

3)      If you would like to make an appeal for a school place there is information about how to appeal on the North Tyneside Council website:

If you have any queries regarding your child’s offer of Middle School/High School place, please contact North Tyneside Council admissions at:

Yours faithfully
