How we learn

At King Edward Primary School we approach learning in a wide variety of ways.  As well as our varied curriculum, visits and visitors, we also have a wide range of themed weeks and events.  These ensure our children have a fantastic and exciting education which directly results in the outstanding progress our children make, ensuring they are ready for their  next steps in life and learning.

All families have access to our Twitter page.  This is where families can share what our children are learning in school and where families can see photographs of the learning which takes place.  EYFS families also have access to online 'Tapestry' accounts.  These are individual learning journeys for each individual child.

The presentation above gives you an overview of how we build our children's 'learning power' in school.  We use BLP to ensure that we empower our children to become motivated learners for their life long future.  This means that children are taught to become active participants in their own learning and are expected to take responsibility for how they progress.  All of our learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 is structured to help our children become confident, motivated and independent learners.  Our celebration assembly acknowledges when children use these learning powers to great effect!
