Welcome to Out of School Club
Out of School Club Vacancy - Part-time Playworker from September 2019
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Playworker to join our amazing team at our popular Out of School Club. Our club is open 51 weeks a year, closing for one week at Christmas, so the post is for a full year position. This will involve working before and after school times during term time and all day throughout the school holidays. While the post is for 16 hours, we anticipate there will be significant scope for additional hours, especially during school holidays. This is determined on a weekly basis in response to the number of children booked into the club for each session.
We are extremely proud of our provision which is highly praised by parents and Ofsted. We envisage the successful candidates to hold the minimum of a Level 3 Childcare / Playworker qualification and to undertake the following duties:
- Make effective use of opportunities to provide play activities to support the development of children’s skills and experiences
- Establish productive working relationships with children, acting as a role model and setting high expectations for behaviour
- Work with management to establish an appropriate play environment
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all children have equal access to opportunities to play, learn and develop
- Work cooperatively with colleagues within the club and across the school more widely
Application should be returned by email to email@example.com no later than 12.00pm on Friday 23rd August and we will be holding interviews week commencing 26th August 2019.
We are dedicated to providing a quality service to parents/carer and children alike. It is our aim that the Out of School Club (OOSC) is not only a reliable and convenient childcare service for parents/carers, but also an enjoying and fulfilling out of school experience for the children.
It is our intention that children and their individual needs are at the core of what we do. We believe that all children have the right to access quality play opportunities. We seek to create a ‘home from home’ experience in which the children are encouraged to develop socially, physically, intellectually, creatively, emotionally and spiritually through a variety planned activities and play opportunities.
All children from Nursery to Year 6 are welcome to attend.

If your child is not a pupil at King Edward Primary School, your child can only attend the club once they have been registered. Registration forms contain details of your child, emergency contact/safe collection information and various parental consent forms. Please contact OOSC staff for a registration form.
Our OOSC is incredibly popular and has limited spaces available linked to space and staffing ratios. We operate on a ‘first come first served basis’. The ultimate decision regarding allocation of spaces rests with the Headteacher.
