Early Years Curriculum

Our Early Years provision has three key parts to it.

Nursery - This provides our 15 hours EYFS provision either every morning or every afternoon, which is teacher led.

The KEEP (King Edward Extended Provision) - Our KEEP provides the additional hours for an extended 30 hour place in our Early Years.  This provision is also teacher led.  We offer pupil premium children a free 30 hours place where at all possible.

Reception - Children move into Reception class after being in Nursery, where they continue to access our EYFS to ensure that they are ready for their next steps in education, key stage 1.

Throughout their time in our Early Years provision, our children are supported to be happy, safe and cared for.  As a result of the well-planned, effectively delivered, exciting and engaging learning opportunities, our children leave EYFS ready for key stage 1!

We were very excited to be one of very few schools in the North East who were a pilot school for the new EYFS framework.  We went ahead with piloting the new framework, despite being mid COVID.

Our Early Years Leader is also an SLE (Specialist Leader of Educaiton).
