Term Dates 2021-22

I would like to bring your attention to two variations from North Tyneside Council’s (NTC) published term dates.  You can access NTC’s term dates by clicking here for your information.  

 

Start and end of academic year

Our school term will begin on Thursday 2nd September 2021 and end on Friday 22nd July 2022.  There will then be two INSET days on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd September so children will return to school on Monday 6th September 2021. 

 

A number of schools in North Tyneside have also opted to similarly alter their term dates.  This is to make the school year start and end on a ‘whole week’ for children.

 

Christmas

Our term will end on Wednesday 22nd December 2021 and begin on Friday 7th January 2022.  Friday 7th January will be an INSET day so children will return on Monday 10th January.  

 

We have made this decision because breaking up a long way in advance of Christmas as proposed by NTC is problematic for primary children.  Our revised dates will allow for all our usual Christmas activities to take place in the run up to Christmas with plenty of time for learning throughout the term.  Our OOSC will be open for some dates over the Christmas closure (to be confirmed nearer the time).  

 

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by our variation from NTC’s term dates.  But we hope that by giving you more than a whole year of notice, that you will be able to plan appropriately for the school term.
