P&S committee Oct 21
Dear parent / carer
The first Premises and Pupil Safety (P&S) committee of the new school year met virtually on Friday 15th October. As has become part of the committee’s remit over the last two years, the Covid-19 School Risk Assessment was reviewed and remains in line with current government guidance and protocols. This document remains live and active which enables the school to react swiftly to any future changes. In addition to this the Health and Safety and First Aid policies were approved.
The committee was also updated on the successful full site risk assessment carried out by the Local Authority. This was initially conducted during the previous summer term and then updated on the completion of the installation of the new outdoor equipment. The rigorous assessment undertaken by the Local Authority provides an objective analysis of the full site and we are delighted that no major concerns were identified and no significant work needs to be undertaken to our site.
In other good news, our school attained the Gold standard in the Local Authority Health and Safety Audit with an amazing score of 92%! This is no mean feat and we would like to thank Mr Attwell, Miss Parnaby and the whole KEPS team for always putting pupil safety first.
And finally, after numerous contractor delays we are over the moon with the new outdoor trim trail equipment and beautiful quiet areas in memory of little Frank. The new equipment provides children with areas to explore physically as well as spaces for mental stimulation and relaxation. Thank you also to the Y6 gardening team for their hard work and support in transforming these areas. The children love the new additions and we believe they are a fitting tribute to the memory of Frank that will be enjoyed by many future generations of King Edward’s children.
