At King Edward Primary School we work together to provide a safe, caring community and an exciting and creative learning environment where children are encouraged to think independently, where their views are valued and they are challenged to achieve their full potential.
Are you interested in enrolling your child at our school?
We know that many parents like to visit our school before their child starts Nursery or Reception. We hold an open evening once every half term from 5.00pm-5.30pm. These are drop in sessions where prospective parents and children can visit our school to look around the Nursery or Reception areas and chat to staff. Our next open evenings will be held on:
Monday 6th June
Dates will follow shortly for the Autumn Term.
If you are interested in attending one of our open evenings, please contact the school office on 0191 8141455 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also pleased to share virtual tours of our Nursery and Reception. The tours show you around our Early Years spaces and give you a flavour of the learning that takes place in this wonderful part of school. Click the links to take the tours and find out how to apply for a place at our school.

COVID Guidance April 2022
Children who are unwell
Children and young people with mild symptoms (e.g. a runny nose) who are otherwise well will be advised to continue to attend their education setting.
Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend. Click this link to see NHS guidance on symptoms of COVID in children.
They can return to educational or childcare settings when they no longer have a high temperature and are well enough.
Positive COVID-19 result
Any child or young person with a positive COVID-19 test result (for example through private testing) should try to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test. They can return to their educational setting after 3 days if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.
An adult with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home for 5 days after they took the test.
If you have any questions, or to report a pupil absence, please contact the school office on 0191 8141455.
News & Events
We use School Gateway for all communications. Please download the App to stay up to date with all school news and events!
We are a paperless school and use parents’ mobile numbers to send electronic communications. This is instead of sending paper letters. As our chosen method of communication, this is an essential service and at least one parent per family must provide a mobile number for text or Gateway communications.
