Healthy Living Week – Monday 20th May 2019 – Friday 24th May 2019

Dear Parents / Carers

We are having a Healthy Living Week beginning Monday 20th May.
Many exciting events will take place throughout the week to promote the
benefits of keeping healthy.

Children are allowed to come to school wearing sports clothes for the
whole week apart from Sports Day on Wednesday 22
nd May when the
children can come to school in their PE kits. Key Stage 2 children (Y3-Y6) will
be in the morning at 9.30am and Key Stage 1 children (Reception-Y2) in the
afternoon at 2.00pm.
  If children could
remember to bring water bottles and sun hats if the weather is warm.
Sun cream should be applied before the start
of the school day.

In addition to Sports Day, there are a number of different activities
taking place all week.  Some of the events taking place are:

  • Inflatable assault course (sponsored event)
  • No Car Day with Go Smarter
  • Sports/fitness sessions with volunteer parents
  • Sports/fitness sessions with external coaches
  • Cycling proficiency sessions
  • Dentist visit

The children will be encouraged to walk, scoot or cycle to school every
day that week and a tally will be taken each day.
The child in each class who walks, scoots or
cycles to school the most will receive a prize.

Many thanks

Amanda Cunningham
