Reminders for parents / carers
Dear parent / carer
Can we please remind all parents / carers of a few points to help our school community live up to our values happy, caring and achieving.
Organisation for the day
Please ensure your child has all the items they need for the school day e.g. water bottle, coat, packed lunch, sun hat. Clothing should be named and older children should be encouraged to take responsibility for their own belongings. Children should not bring unnecessary items to school e.g. trinkets, jewellery, toys.
Appointments during the day
We ask that you endeavor to make all appointments for your child outside of school hours to avoid disruption to teaching and learning. While we appreciate it may sometimes be necessary to have emergency doctors or hospital appointments during the day due to availability; dentist, opticians and other activities should not take place during school hours.
Parking at pick up and drop off
If you are transporting your child by car, please park sensibly and safely. Parking on the yellow zig zags at the designated times is illegal. It is also very unsafe for our children. The staff / visitor car park is not to be used at these times and has no pedestrian access.
End of day arrangements
You should make end of day collection arrangements for your child before the school day and ensure your child knows what they are (particularly for older children who may walk home alone). You should only call the office to change your child’s end of day arrangements if it is urgent and beyond your control. OOSC should be booked at least two days in advance; spaces are not always available on the day. We ask that you please leave the site promptly after you collect your child from school. Our facilities are not open to the public after school and equipment is only for school use.
Over the counter medication
Treatments for minor ailments such as cough lozenges, nasal sprays and chapsticks should not be brought into school. If your child does require medication, this must be brought to the school office by a parent / carer in its full original packaging.
#bekind
School staff are here to help. Please treat us with respect and consideration. We have a zero tolerance policy for behaviour which is rude, offensive or aggressive.
We are a big primary school and currently have 471 children attending school. We kindly ask that parents / carers follow procedures in place such as those listed above to help the school day run smoothly for everyone and avoid disruption to your child’s teaching and learning.
Thank you
