Friends of King Edward (FOKE)
Who are we?
We are a group of volunteer parents / carers, staff and member of the local community. We work together with school to organise and support school events.
Why do we do it?
By raising money we can support the school to the benefit of all of our children.
How do we do it?
We raise money through organised events like fairs, sponsored events, raffles, non-uniform days, cake sales and other fun events which our children are a part of.
What difference does it make?
As a direct result of our fundraising events, we have managed to raise enough money to buy things for school which enhance what is already available. With ever tightening school budgets, FOKE fundraising is additionally important to allow these extra developments and improvements. Because of the hard work and effort of everyone involved, FOKE have been able to purchase or contribute to:
- Two new structures in the Key Stage 1 Yard; a sand pit and a stage
- Outdoor bean bags to create a quiet space for break and lunchtimes
- Phonics reading scheme books
- The Clumsiest Elf Christmas performance
- Year 6 leavers events
- Outdoor play areas in the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 yards
- Main entrance TV
- Canopy for Early Years
We cannot do this without the ongoing support from our families, staff and the community. There is no pressure to get heavily involved, and whether you can help a little or a lot, all help is much appreciated! You may be able to support us on the day of events or for event preparation, or by helping with contacts to helps school gain funding. If you can help in any way and would like to get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or see me, Laura Evans, in the Key Stage 1 yard. You can also find us on Facebook at King Edward Primary School – FOKE.
