Year 4 – Virtual Book Workshop – Tuesday 9th November 2021

Dear Year 4 Parent/Guardian

 

Your child will be attending a virtual event with Joseph Coelho on Tuesday 9th November 2021 as part of the 38th annual Northern Children’s Book Festival and will have the opportunity to buy signed copies of his books.  Joseph has written some beautiful books including the Luna Loves…. series and If all the World Were…. His latest venture has been to write deliciously dark Fairytales Gone Bad for older children.  The first one Zombierella has been shortlisted for several awards.  The books available to purchase are Frankenstilskin and Zombierella which are priced at £7.99 each.

 

There is no obligation to buy books as part of this digital event, but we do want to alert you to this opportunity to avoid disappointment.  Often pupils are very inspired to read the author’s book after such a visit and this is a unique opportunity for them to have books signed.  Authors will be providing signed bookplates which will be inserted into the purchased book.  Please be aware that due to the format of this year’s festival, books may take up to two weeks to arrive following the event.

 

Research shows that meeting an author will inspire children and help them pursue a love of reading and we believe that this year will be no different, despite the challenges presented by the current circumstances.

 

If you would like to purchase a book or both books, you can do this via the Schoolgateway App under the ‘Virtual Book Workshop’ section.  In the comment section please let us know which book you would like to purchase (Frankenstilskin / Zombierella).  If you would like more than one book, please make separate purchases for each book.
