Unicef Fundraising Day 06.05.22

Dear parents / carers

As you are no doubt aware, the war in Ukraine is placing millions of children and their families in immediate danger.  At King Edward Primary School, our School Council have come up with a number of fundraising ideas to support those at risk.  All proceeds will go to Unicef, a charity which raises funds for emergency and development work around the world, to support their current work in the Ukraine.  For more information about Unicef, click here.

Unicef Charity Day

Children are invited to come into school in non-uniform on Friday 6th May.  We ask for a small donation of £1 or upwards on this day.  You can make your donation on the School Gateway app by going to ‘payments’ and ‘Unicef Charity Day 2022’.  Or, send in a cash donation with your child.

Cake and Book Sale

Children are invited to a cake and book sale on Friday 6th May during the school day.  We are able to accept cash payment only for this sale so if you would like your child to be able to purchase something, please send them in with money on the day.

If you would like to donate any cakes for the sale, this would be much appreciated.  Please bring your donation to the school office by 4.30pm on Thursday 5th May.  We do not require any donations of books at this time.

Book Raffle

We are holding a raffle in school with the chance to win a brand new book!  The cost will be 50p per strip.  If you would like your child to purchase raffle tickets, please send them into school from Tuesday 3rd May with their money (change appreciated).  Children will be able to purchase tickets during the school day.  Tickets will not be available from the school office.  There are a number of these lovely prizes to be won and winners will be announced on Friday 6th May.

Thank you

Miss Gilhespie
