Start of year reminders September 2025

Dear parent / carer

Welcome back for another school year!  Can we please remind you of a few points of procedure to keep all children safe and happy in school.

No nuts – We are a nut free school.  As a number of children have severe allergies, we do not allow any nuts or nut containing foods to be consumed on the premises.  This includes but is not limited to: nutella, peanut butter, nut spreads, breakfast bars containing nuts, nut pesto, kinder biscuits.

Medication – If your child requires medication in school, this must be brought by a parent / carer to the school office.  Medication must be in its original container / box.  We cannot allow any medication to be given unless we have signed permission from a parent / carer.  Children should not bring in nasal sprays, throat lozenges, lip balms etc.

Car park There is no pedestrian access to our staff / visitor car park.  Please do not use this route at pick up and drop off.  Instead, you should use the double gate which opens directly onto the KS2 yard.  Parents / carers should also not park in the car park.

Attendance – Good attendance matters!  Please ensure your child is in school promptly each day to best support their social development, wellbeing and attainment.  If your child is unwell, please call the school office to report the absence.  Reminder: family holidays taken during term time will not be authorised under current DfE guidelines and may result in a fine from the Local Authority.

End of day arrangements – Please let staff know your child’s end of day pick up arrangements at drop off at the latest.  This helps the school day run more smoothly and reduces disruption.  The office will only pass on changes to your child’s end of day arrangements in an emergency.

Uniform – Uniform is sold from the office on a Monday night from 3.30pm-5.00pm only.  If you are unable to attend at this time, you are welcome to send your written order into school with your child in a sealed envelope and correct change.  Children should wear full school uniform as detailed on our website (leggings are not school uniform).

Earrings – Children may wear one pair of stud earrings for school.  But they must be able to remove these themselves for PE.  If children cannot remove their own earrings, they must be removed before school on PE days.  Children cannot take part in PE while wearing earrings.

Dogs – It is preferable that dogs are left off the premises at pick up and drop off.  If you do need to bring your dog into the yard, it must be carried.  Dogs will not be allowed on the yard on a lead.

School Gateway app – We recommend all priority 1 contact parents / carers download the School Gateway app to allow school to send instant messages to your phone for free!  You can also use the app to pay for school meals, book OOSC sessions and contribute to trips and visits.

#bekind – School staff are here to help!  Please speak to staff with respect and consideration.  If you have anything you would like to discuss or ask, we advise you contact us directly.

Thank you
