Start of year reminders September 2022

Dear parent / carer

As we move into a new school year, can we please remind you of a few points of policy to keep all children safe and happy in school.

No nuts – We are a nut free school.  As a number of children have severe allergies, we do not allow any nuts or nut containing foods to be consumed on the premises.  This includes but is not limited to: nutella, peanut butter, nut spreads, breakfast bars containing nuts, nut pesto, kinder biscuits.

Car park There is no pedestrian access to our staff/visitor car park.  Please do not use this route at pick up and drop off.  Instead, you should use the double gate which opens directly onto the KS2 yard.

Water bottles – Children are welcome to come to school each day with a refillable water bottle.  This should contain water only, not juice.

Earrings – Children may wear one pair of stud earrings for school.  But they must be able to remove these themselves for PE.  If children cannot remove their own earrings, they must be removed before school on PE days.  Children cannot take part in PE while wearing earrings.

Medication – If your child requires medication in school, this must be brought by a parent / carer to the school office.  Medication must be in its original container / box.  We cannot allow any medication to be given unless we have signed permission from a parent / carer.  For more information, see our Managing Medication Policy.

Dogs – It is preferable that dogs are left off the premises at pick up and drop off.  If you do need to bring your dog into the yard, it must be carried.  Dogs will not be allowed on the yard on leads only.

Uniform – Uniform is sold from the office on a Monday night from 3.30pm-5.00pm only.  If you are unable to attend at this time, you are welcome to send your written order into school with your child in a sealed envelope and correct change.

Y5-Y6 pick up/drop off – Parents of our oldest children are asked not to come onto the yard at pick up and drop off.  This is to help children become high school ready.

Thank you
