Science Week – Gadget Shop – Open for Business: Monday 13th March until Friday 17th March 2023 & Gadget Raffle!

Dear Parents/ Carers,

 

On the 13th March 2023, British Science and STEM Week commences in the UK and we’d like you and your child, along with other pupils and staff from our school, to be involved.  As a school we’re planning an exciting week of events and activities, one of which is the ‘Gadget Shop’.

 

Our ‘Gadget Shop’ is an exciting stall, home to the most exciting scientific curiosities this side of the moon.  It’s jam packed with scientific gismos, toys, games and gadgets, all aiming to promote a practical awareness of science in the real world.  What’s more, our pupils and teachers will be developing their entrepreneurial skills by running the stall from within our school community.

 

The stall will take place between 13th – 17th March 2023.  Pupils will be able to access the stall during the school day in the community room and will be required to keep their purchases safe and unopened until they leave school at the end of the day.  This way, they can share their amazing toys and games with you and complete the gadgets practical activities once safely back at home.

 

The gadgets on the stall range from £1 – £3 and we’ve set a spending limit for each child for the week of £4.  The stall will also be open from 3.25pm – 3.45pm Monday – Thursday in the community room, if you wish to come along after school to purchase items with your child. 

 

There will also be a ‘gadget Raffle.’  Prizes available are worth up to £10!  Raffle tickets cost 50p strip and will be sold by Year 5 and Year 6 curriculum leaders during science week.  Raffle winners will be announced during Friday assembly.
