Reception Children going into Year 1 September 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

As you know, the ongoing roofing works to the EYFS building meant that Year 1 has been in the main school building for this half term.

We’re pleased to let you know that these works are going to schedule and, as a result, we’re able to move Year 1 back into its original space for next academic year. This means that your children will remain in the EYFS building next year, in Year 1.

Please click on the link: Year 1 Transition Booklet This document is for you to share with your children over the summer. Your children now know that they will be in the EYFS building for Year 1. They are familiar with the building already, have already used the Year 1 toilets over the last term as part of the current reorganisation and will continue to have their lunch in the EYFS hall. This should ensure a smooth and confident start to their new school year in September.

Parents and carers will be invited into school in the early part of the autumn term to see the Year 1 classrooms, meet the staff and be given an overview of what learning looks like in Year 1.

Please contact current Reception staff if you have any questions or require further information.

Thank you and have a restful summer.
