P&S Governor Meeting – Overview – Autumn Term
The first Premises and Pupil Safety (P&S) Committee meeting of the academic year took place last Friday. This committee meets termly to review and address all aspects of both premises and pupil safety, and any relevant information or actions is then fed back into the full governing body meeting.
During today’s meeting we:
– Agreed the terms of reference for the committee going forward.
– Reviewed and agreed the school’s Health & Safety policy, ensuring the school remains fully compliant with statutory requirements.
– Discussed the termly accident reports, which we are pleased to say did not raise any concerns for pupil or staff welfare.
– Reviewed the local authority safeguarding audit and as a result we will be looking at ways of involving our pupils in the creation of child friendly versions of specific safeguarding policies such as online safety. We feel this would be an excellent way to obtain the children’s buy-in and help embed the online safety message.
Finally, we received a tour of the newly completed sensory room within nursery, seeing first hand just how much our nursery children are enjoying and benefiting from it.
