Post in response to a stream of requests from parents/carers

We have been inundated in the last week with contact from parents/carers, asking if they can send things in as a thank you to staff for the end of the school year, as many of you kindly usually do.  So due to the number of requests, rather than replying to each request individually, I thought I’d send a quick message.  I hope that this does not come across at all with any expectation from us in school, this post is simply in response to the stream of requests into school asking about this.

I recognise that for many children and families, saying thank you to our staff is important to them.  COVID has been life changing in so many ways and so many freedoms and choices have been taken away over the last few months for us all.  So if any children or families would like to send anything in, as many of you usually choose to do, then I am sure that staff would be very touched and appreciate the kindness from you and your child.

If this is something you would like to do as usual, then could I just ask the following things.

  • Please do not send in anything homebaked/cooked.

  • If your child is onsite, then your child can bring any gift in with them.

  • If you child is not in school, then please can I ask that if you wish to bring anything, that you come to school on the day each year groups has been designated to come and buy new uniform.

Thank you for all of your kindness and support.

Kate Byrne
