From September 2023 your child will no longer receive Universal Free School Meals (benefit related free school meals will still continue as normal). If you would like your child to stay for school meals from September you will have to pay via our School Gateway App. School meals will be £2.50 per meal. Please see below how to pay for school meals:
To pay for schools meals, go to:
- Home screen
- ‘Payments’
- ‘School meals’
- And follow the prompts to add credit to your child’s account
Each time your child takes a meal, you will then be debited and be able to see your balance in the app.

- ‘School meals’
We maintain a no debt policy whereby you must ensure credit is on your account in order for your child to have a school meal.
