Catering Assistant Job Vacancy
At King Edward Primary School, we employ our own fantastic Catering Team to run the school meals provision. The service runs all through term time providing schools meals for up to 300 children from Nursery to Year 6 every day. The Catering Team are an integral part of our school community and get involved with Fun Days and special events such as our summer fair. We are extremely proud of our school meals which are very popular with our children and staff.
We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join this amazing team. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, friendly, willing to learn, and a team player. As a Catering Assistant you would be expected to:
- Assist in the preparation of some food items
- Take part in service of food and beverages, ensuring a high standard is maintained at all time
- Be aware of food allergens and intolerances and follow special diets where these have been implemented by the Catering Manager
- Assist with cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas
- Establish productive working relationships with children, acting as a role model and setting high expectations for behaviour
The contract is for 10 hours a week, Monday to Friday, from 11.30am-1.30pm. This is classed as a term time only contract whereby the salary is offered pro rata over 38 school weeks and 3 training days (total 193 days). The contract is for a permanent position under the direct employment of King Edward Primary School.
King Edward Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is essential that all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate along with other relevant pre-employment checks including references and online searches.
