Nursery, Reception & Year 1 – Sponsored Book Bingo – Monday 2nd March – Sunday 8th March 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian,

 

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of books and reading at home and school, we will be running our annual Book Bingo between Monday 2nd March and Sunday 8th March. 

 

In order to support your child’s early reading development in the best possible ways we are trying to raise money to fund the renewal of high quality books for your children to read in school and literacy resources.

 

In the past you have helped us to raise a significant amount of money to support our young readers and we are very grateful for your ongoing support. As part of the National Year of Reading 2026 we want to ‘GO ALL IN’ to offer our children the best possible start to their education and we hope you will support us in this aim.

 

Each child will receive a Book Bingo card filled with a variety of book-related challenges, such as reading in an unusual place or recommending a favourite book to a friend. The aim is for children to complete as many activities as they can throughout Book Week, with the ultimate goal of achieving a full house.  We kindly invite families to support this event through sponsorship, sponsor forms will come home with all children soon. Whether it’s a small amount per activity completed or a single donation for taking part, every contribution helps us continue to provide enriching literacy experiences for our pupils.  Book Bingo is all about enjoyment, creativity, and celebrating the joy of reading. We hope it will inspire children to explore stories in new ways and share their enthusiasm with others at home and in school.

 

After the sponsored book bingo, please send all the sponsorship money that your child has raised to the school by Tuesday March 10th 2026. 

 

We look forward to having lots more books for your child to listen to, look at, share and enjoy.
