North East Homeless Charity – Donation Request

Our school would love to get involved in helping support the North East Homeless Charity.  It is based in our area and one of our parents has approached us to ask if we could help in any way.  Which we would love to!
The North East Homeless charity is located on the fish quay, also known as the fish quay hub.  It is a registered charity supporting the homeless and people in need – they have a great cafe ( currently acting as a takeaway), a support network and also a ‘social supermarket’.
The supermarket provides a food parcel service linked to Newcastle Council. But it also has an ethos of ‘take what you need – leave what you can’ for anyone that wants to use the supermarket. They rely on donations and it always need replenishing.
There will be a donations box outside at 63 Preston Avenue (just next to our school),  mainly at school drop off and pick up times. They will happily accept any donations at any time.
Here is a list of donations they would be very grateful for:
Cereal
Jam/marmalade/honey etc
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate/cordial/juice
Pasta/spaghetti/noodles
Tinned meals – bolognaise/meat balls/ravioli/chilli/mince and onion/pies
Tinned meat – ham/pork/corned beef/tuna/chicken
Tinned veg & fruit
Salt/pepper/cooking oil
Washing up liquid
Toilet roll
Softener
Biscuits/sweets/lovely treats
(This is a suggested list and may change with demand but all is welcome)
Thank you for any support you might be able to give!! 2020 has been a challenging year for so many families and we would very much like to help support this very important local charity.
