Next Steps for School Closure

Dear parents and carers,

We thought it would be helpful to share some more detailed information with you.

How will we communicate with you once our school is closed?

We will continue to communicate with you all using our current well established methods. This includes using Facebook, Twitter, our website and our School Gateway/ texting service.

In addition, we will provide email contact details for all members of staff shortly, which will be checked regularly during school hours. Members of the Senior Leadership Team, including myself and Berni Miller, will be available daily should you need to talk to us.

How will learning be organised?

As a first priority after we close for face to face learning, we will provide links to various websites with online learning. This will ensure that your child can access some learning while we finalise our detailed and cohesive learning plans for each year group.

Going forward, we are determined to provide a range of learning for our children in all year groups, which they will be able to do at home. We intend that this may include a variety of electronic resources such as video tutorials, personalised and group learning resources via Google Drive and apps such as Seesaw and Tapestry. We appreciate that many of you will need tutorials to access these. Our first plans include sharing such tutorials and guides within you by the end of the week.

What if my child does not have access to online learning?

We are fortunate that we know this is exceptionally rare in our school community. Our online presence is long established. Please click this link if your child does not have access to the internet at home. We will then endeavour to provide packs of learning for them.

What do I do next?

Please do not collect your child from school until the end of the school day.  Or if your child is booked into Out of School Club, you can collect them at your usual time (up to 6.00pm).  You will be refunded for any Out of School Club sessions or Nursery/KEEP lunches that you have booked from tomorrow.

We would like to send all medication home with children.  If your child has medication in school, please come to the school office at the end of the school day to collect this.

What if I have any questions?

We appreciate that parents and families may have many questions they wish to ask. We would very much appreciate it if you would complete this brief form rather than calling the office as it would be hugely helpful to school staff managing this closure. We will of course prioritise those requiring an urgent answer and endeavour to respond within 48 hours once we have managed to collate responses.

Thank you for your support and patience at this time.
