New Catering Provider February 2022

Dear parents / carers

We have exciting news to share with you!  After seeking the views of children, parents and staff over the last 12months, we have decided to change catering providers.

Who is our new catering provider?

We have followed a formal tender process to ensure we are getting the best value and quality for our children.  From April 2022, our new provider will be Caterlink.  Caterlink are specialist caterers in the education sector with a wealth of experience and expertise.  You can find out more about Caterlink at this link.

What is the transition process?

As we move away from North Tyneside Council, there may be interruptions to service which are beyond our control and that of Caterlink.  But we will continue to work with the Council, as well as with Caterlink, to do everything in our power to ensure a smooth transition to our new provider.  Caterlink is very experienced in this area and already has a mobilisation plan underway.

What do parents need to do?

As we approach the end of March 2022, parents will need to ensure their balance with North Tyneside Council Catering Services is nil.  Any outstanding debt should be paid and excess credit should be spent.

What are the next steps?

We are very excited about the opportunities working with Caterlink will allow.  This includes re-branding our kitchen service areas and new menu choices to ensure healthy, tasty food for all our children.  We will keep you updated with the latest news and developments!

Thank you
