King Edward Primary School – Eco Team Letter to Parents/Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to you as concerned members of the King Edward Eco-Team.

We want to keep cars away from the school. We want to try to scoot, cycle and walk to school to get more exercise, or park cars away from school and walk the last part of the journey.

If you need to travel in the car, please at least park around the block. You could park and stride which is when you park away from school and walk the rest of the way.

We are asking this because we want to protect the children who attend school. However, it would also mean that you could save petrol! We also want to stop pollution which could make us ill and we want to protect local wildlife. We could make the world a brighter place.

If you are in the car, please don’t drive fast near school. Try to drive at 10 miles an hour.

You shouldn’t park on the zig zags outside school and please don’t do u-turns or park in disabled bays. Don’t park on the pavement because it is hard for people to get past, especially for people in wheelchairs and with prams.

Please be careful of pupils crossing the road.

Thank you for reading this message. We hope you have found our advice useful.

Yours faithfully,

The King Edward Primary Eco-Team
