Key information for the Year 5 children returning to site

I am over the moon that almost all Year 5 children are going to return to site next week!  I expected there to be high demand, which was why I had to offer Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday for each group.  The classrooms will be cleaned in between for the next group.  We just don’t have any more staff or classrooms to offer each day for all of the Y5 children who would like to return to site.  I look forward to the day, hopefully not far off, when we can return to normal!

The huge demand has meant that we are using 3 staff and 3 classrooms.  This literally uses the very last of all classrooms in our vast school.   The wonderful Miss Tong, who already knows your chidlren very well, will be the third teacher.  A small number of you made some requests about perferred days or friendships.  We have tried our best where we have been able to to consider your wishes, at least as far as possible.

When your children return, we will then have TWENTY ONE bubbles of children, all with staggered start and finish times, each with a separate member of staff.

Groups

Your child has been placed in a bubble group.  They will remain in the same group each time they are in school.  If the member of staff is absent, you will receive a text to close the bubble until they return.  We simply have no more capacity of staff able to be onsite.

Start and finish times

Your child has a very specific start and finish time.  It’s at the top of the group list you will be sent shortly.  Please come promptly on time, but not too early.  Your child needs to line up, socially distanced, outside the KS2 yard.  They will then come into the yard at the start time when their teachers comes to collect them.  It’s working really well for Year 6.

The times are as follows:

9am-11am

9.10am-11.10am

9.20am-11.20am

At the end of their session, your child will be brought out to you at the gate.

What to bring

Children should not bring water bottles.  Water is available. They should not bring hand sanitizer.  It is everywhere around school!  But they MUST bring their coat.

The sessions are only 2 hours long so your child should not need to bring anything else at all.

Health and Safety Contract

You will have just been sent s google form to agree to the conditions of your child returning to site.  Your child will not be able to come onsite until this is completed.  It would be MUCH appreciated if you could do it today, it only takes 60 seconds.

We cannot wait to see you and your children on Monday morning!
