In Memory of Frank 14.03.2023

Dear parent / carer,

Next Tuesday, we celebrate a special day.  You may or may not be aware that, sadly, one of our Reception children died very suddenly in December 2020.  Frank had been previously diagnosed with neuroblastoma.  Next Tuesday Frank would have been celebrating his 7th birthday.

It is hugely important to us, Year 2 and also to his family, that we always remember and celebrate Frank as a member of his class and a part of our school.  Every year on his birthday (14th March), we will be celebrating his life and memory in school.

On Tuesday 14th March we would like all children to come into school in non-school uniform and wearing Frank’s favourite colour – blue!

As we did last year, we will be collecting donations on that day for Neuroblastoma UK.  Neuroblastoma UK is a small national charity, dedicated to finding a cure for neuroblastoma.  It is through funding leading research projects that the charity stands a chance to develop new, more effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma.  If you would like to donate, please go to the School Gateway app, tap ‘payments’, then tap ‘In Memory of Frank’.

On Tuesday, in celebration of Frank, all children will have extra time in our outdoor spaces, including on our trim trail and quiet areas which were created in his memory (weather permitting).  It is especially lovely to see Frank’s tree thriving already this year, in our Key Stage 2 quiet area.
