HIGH BORRANS – Week Adventure –Summer
2019
Dear Year 4 Parent,
During their time at King Edward we hope that every
child will try and take the opportunity to come with us on an exciting
adventure at High Borrans in the Lake District. These have always been a great
success, with children enjoying themselves and being thrilled at achieving new
things. Most are eager to go again if given the chance. Aside from enjoying the
beauties of the Lake District itself, activities can include some canoeing,
orienteering, the Ropes course, Ghyll scrambling, walks in the hills etc. Some
of these take place on site and some in the countryside elsewhere. We will help
develop the children’s sense of independence and confidence and social skills
too. Activities are, of course, tailored to the children’s ages and abilities.
While in Y4 we take the children from Monday to
Friday in late Spring or early Summer, the Y6 we take, go during the Autumn
term, over a weekend.
Your child has an opportunity to attend this year
with the Y4 trip planned for just after the Summer Half term holiday – Monday 3rd June 2019 – Friday 8th June 2019.
We will be inviting parents to sign up during the
next half term but If you would like to know more about the trip and the Centre
we stay in beforehand, or ask questions, then I will be holding an open meeting
for Parents on Thursday 28th February at 5.15pm.
Thank you
Mr Henderson
