Full Governing Body Meeting Overview – Autumn Term 2
It was another busy agenda for the second Full Governing Body meeting of this year. We focused on a range of issues and held detailed discussions on issues such as SEND provision, pupil premium spending, the school site and progress towards the school improvement plan priorities for this year. I am pleased to report that school leaders’ strategies for improvement are being fully implemented across the school and undoubtedly benefiting the pupils on a daily basis.
Governors have been getting into school frequently this term to speak to staff and pupils to gain greater insights into provision in areas such as SEND Early Years curriculum and site safety. All reports identified that staff were fully committed to providing the very best provision for the children and were working extremely hard to further improve the quality of education across the school.
There has been a lot of work by school leaders this term on implementing a ‘Deep Dive’ approach to reviewing the quality of education. This approach involves senior leaders and subject leads visiting lessons, looking at work and talking to pupils about a particular subject, which results in a thorough understanding of what is going well as well as identifying any aspects of provision that could be further improved. Subject reports will be provided to the Governor’s curriculum committee throughout the year.
We have had two resignations from the governing Body this term, Mark Stutt and Greg Houghton. I would like to thank them both for the support that they have offered the school over the years.
Finally, I hope that you are all looking forward to the various KEPS Christmas events planned over the coming weeks, I know that I certainly am! It is early, but on behalf of the Governing Body I would like to wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable festive period.
