Changes to Accident Recording

Dear parent/carer

We are moving to an electronic way of recording any accidents and first aid in school.  This means that we will no longer send a paper first aid slip home with your child.

If your child has a minor accident in school requiring some small amount of first aid such (e.g. Grazed knee cleaned and plaster applied) they will be given a ‘first aid’ sticker. If they have a minor bump to their head they will be given a separate ‘bumped head’ sticker. This will notify you that your child has had some care and attention from our staff following their accident.

If your child has a more serious accident, we will contact you by phone or text. We may just want to let you know what has happened or ask you to collect your child.

Please be assured that if your child does hurt themselves in school, we will care for your child appropriately and administer any necessary first aid. This will be recorded in school for our records. If you would like further information when first aid has been given, please call the school office.

Thank you
