Big Gig Music Festival Day – Friday 19th June 2026
Dear Parents/Carers
We are delighted that we have been invited to take part in the Newcastle Music Services Big Gig on Friday 19 June 2026. This is an annual large scale musical event to celebrate National Make Music Day. We expect there to be around 1,500 young people in attendance, singing and playing ten popular songs arranged for beginner instrumentalists and singers.
We will be attending in the morning for a full rehearsal with the rock band before doors open to the audience at 12:30pm. The informal sharing concert will be 1:00-2:00pm. For security reasons, any opened and unsealed water or drinks bottles will not be allowed into the arena. A limited number of tickets are available to parents, priced at £7 each, school does not have access to tickets they are available via Ticketsource site: www.ticketsource.co.uk/newcastlemusicservice.
Children must wear their full school uniform. We will leave school at 9.45am to arrive at the Arena for 10.30am. We will have our lunch at 12.00. All children will need a packed lunch (Nut Free) and water bottle. They can bring their normal bottle. It is the audience in the afternoon that can’t bring refillable bottles. If your child receives Benefit Related free school meals a packed lunch will be provided for them.
We will leave the Arena, by bus, at approximately 2.30pm so we will be back at school for the end of the day at approx 3.15pm.
We are asking for a contribution of £7.00 towards the cost of the coach for this event. All contributions are greatly appreciated. Please pay via School Gateway App. Go to payments Y4 Big Gig June 2026.
