A Charity Fundraiser Event

Dear Parents / Carers,

A Charity Fundraiser Event

We are writing to invite you to A Charity Fundraiser Event that we are hosting on the evening of Thursday 24th November at Percy Park Rugby Club.  The evening will run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and will include a bar, entertainment and raffle.

As many of you may remember, we contacted you at the beginning of the term with the sad news that Mr Routledge’s wife has been diagnosed with cancer. She is currently battling stage 4 cancer and this requires very specialised treatment. Unfortunately, there are no more treatment options left on the NHS and she is now seeking treatment abroad. As you can imagine this is very expensive. The family have managed to raise a significant amount of money for this treatment through a Go Fund Me page created by Mr Routledge’s sister in law. Although this is a great amount of money, the costs do mount up quickly and as a school, we would love to show our support and raise money for a colleague of ours who was truly amazing to work with and a fantastic teacher and support to your children. As a staff team, we have decided to host this event in order to help this wonderful family and we would love your support!

A Charity Fundraiser Event will be a ticketed event at a cost of £5 per ticket or two tickets for £8. Tickets are available to anyone who would like to attend (not limited to the school community) but please note this is an adult only event. Tickets will be on sale from Friday 4th November from the school office at pick up and drop off times. We request cash only. Please retain your ticket as you will need it for entrance on the day.

Raffle

We have reached out to many local businesses who have very kindly offered us some amazing raffle prizes for the event. These include tickets to Alnwick Gardens, hair treatments, free MOT, personal training session, crazy golf tickets, restaurant vouchers, clothing, hampers, tickets for children play areas and local swimming pools among many more! We are eternally grateful for all of these donations and we are hoping many of these contributors will be joining us on the evening too. All of the proceeds made from the ticket sales and the raffle will go towards the ongoing treatment and travel costs.

We are still looking for additional raffle donations if anyone is able to help with that please contact the school office or speak to Mrs Henderson in the KEEP.

Raffle tickets will cost £2 per strip or 3 strips for £5. Raffle tickets will be on sale from Friday 4th November from the school office at pick up and drop off times and will also be available to purchase on the night. We request cash only. The prize draw will take place on the night. Please retain your raffle tickets as you will need them to claim your prize. If you would like to purchase raffle tickets but not attend the event, winning ticket numbers will be posted on our website and prizes made available for collection from the school office.

Further help

We are looking for some entertainment for the evening, for example a DJ. If anyone knows someone who could help for such a wonderful cause then please get in touch.

We are also collecting decorations for the function room. The colour theme of this event is pink in honour of Mrs Routledge and Breast Cancer Awareness so if anyone has any pink balloons, banners, bunting etc that they no longer need and would like to donate then please give those to your child’s class teacher or the school office. We are eternally grateful for your support as always.

We would like to thank you in advance for any help or donations you are able to give and we express our sincerest gratitude for joining us for this special event and supporting us with your donations.

So please come along and join our staff team for this important event. It will be a fantastic night and a good way for our community to come together whilst supporting a family that is very dear to our hearts.

We will look forward to seeing you in November.
