Years 2 – 6: Sponsored Read – Monday 2nd March – Sunday 8th March 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of books and reading at home and school, we will be running our annual sponsored read between Monday 2nd March and Sunday 8th March. 

 

In order to support your child’s vital reading development in the best possible ways we are trying to raise money to fund the renewal of high quality books for your children to read in school and literacy related resources.

 

In the past you have helped us to raise a significant amount of money to support our young readers and we are very grateful for your ongoing support. As part of the National Year of Reading 2026 we want to ‘GO ALL IN’ to offer our children the best possible start to their education and we hope you will support us in this aim.

 

Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by spending a small amount of time each day reading with your child. And it’s not just books that you can enjoy together: comics, magazines, recipes, menus, your favourite websites – anything with words that you can read together.

 

We hope that you are able to ‘GO ALL IN’ to support our sponsored read. Every single £ will help us to fund vital new reading resources across school.  Sponsorship forms will come home soon with your child.  They will also be given a reading log to record the minutes they have spent reading during the week in class.

 

After the sponsored read, please send all the sponsorship money that your child has raised to the school by Tuesday March 10th 2026. 

 

We look forward to having lots more books for your child to listen to, look at, share and enjoy.
