Christmas at KEPS 2025!
Dear parent / carer
Although you may already be familiar with upcoming events from our Advance Diary Dates, we want to share more detailed plans with you to make the season merry! Please read below to see what we have in store to get our children, staff and parents / carers in the holiday spirit.
Christmas Dinner
Christmas Dinner Day will be on Wednesday 17th December. Menu and booking form to follow! Children with known dietary requirements will be catered for. Please note: on Thursday 18th December, there will be a change to the planned menu and we will serve ‘All Day Breakfast’ instead of roast dinner.
Christmas Jumper Day
Children are invited to come into school on Wednesday 17th December in their Christmas Jumper and non uniform. What better way to dress for Christmas Dinner!?
Christmas Performances
Nursery Christmas Nativity – Parents / carers are invited to come and watch our Nursery Nativity on Friday 12th December. The morning Nursery performance will begin at 10.00am. The afternoon Nursery performance will begin at 1.30pm. Performances will be held in the Early Years Hall. Entrance via the Year 1 door (ramp in KS1 yard).
Reception-Year 1 Christmas Production – Reception parents / carer are invited to come and watch our production on Wednesday 10th December. Year 1 parents / carers are invited to come and watch our production on Thursday 11th December. Both performances start at 2.15pm. Performances will be held in the gym. Entrance via the community room doors (KS1 yard). All Reception children and Year 1 narrators (those with other parts have costumes) should wear their Christmas jumpers on the performance days.
Year 2-Year 3 Christmas Songs – Year 2 parents / carers are invited to come and listen to our Year 2-3 Christmas Songs on Monday 8th December. Year 3 parents / carers are invited to come and listen to our Year 2-3 Christmas Songs on Tuesday 9th December. They will begin at 2.30pm. Performances will be held in the gym. Entrance via the community room doors (KS1 yard). All children should wear their Christmas jumpers on the performance days.
Please note: for all performances at school, the visitor gate will be opened 10 minutes before the performance times. Access to site will not be granted before this time.
Year 4-Year 6 Christmas Service – The Christmas Services will be held at St Augustin’s Church in North Shields. Parents / carers of children in 4F, 4L and 5F are invited to attend on Friday 5th December. Parents / carers of children in 5D, 6L and 6IB are invited to attend on Friday 12th December. Both services start at 9.30am. If you would like to contribute towards the cost of heating at St Augustin’s Church for our practices and performances, please bring a small amount of cash to add to the church collection plate on the day. All children should wear their Christmas jumpers instead of a school sweatshirt/cardigan along with their uniform on the service days.
Christmas Parties
The end of the Autumn term is Christmas party time for all our children! Children can come to school in non-uniform/party clothes on the day of their party; though we ask that they are dressed suitably for the cold December weather. Parties take place during the school day after lunch. Small refreshments will be provided and dietary requirements will be catered for.

Year 3 – Monday 15th December
Year 4 – Tuesday 16th December
Year 5 – Wednesday 17th December
Year 6 – Thursday 18th December
Nursery Visit to the Rising Sun Country Park
Nursery will visit Santa on Friday 6th December at the Rising Sun Country Park. Can we remind children to wear warm, waterproof clothes with wellington boots or sturdy footwear. This should be over their usual Nursery uniform. Upon return to school, Nursery children who do not stay for the afternoon session should be collected at approximately 12.15pm.
Choir North Shields Christmas Market
Choir are performing at the North Shields Christmas Market on Saturday 6th December at 1.15pm. Children should wear a red scarf if possible.
School Holiday Dates
Our final day in school is Friday 19th December. Children are welcome to come to school on this day in non-uniform. We have an INSET (teacher training day) on Monday 5th January and school will be closed to children and parents / carers. School resumes on Tuesday 6th January 2026!
