Clennell – Keeping Children Safe Online – Parent Session

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to those who were able to join our recent online safety Zoom session led by Clennell Education Solutions. The session highlighted some key areas of concern and offered practical advice for helping children stay safe online.

We also talked about ways to reduce the risk, such as:

• Being positive role models for online behaviour
• Setting limits around device and social media use
• Encouraging honest conversations with your child
• Using game controls, secure device settings, and parental controls
• Creating a family online agreement

A family agreement might include things like:

• No phones at the dinner table
• Devices not being used in bedrooms at night
• Agreeing to check with an adult before downloading apps or games
• Limiting screen time during the week and weekend

We strongly encourage all families to create a simple online agreement together. It’s a powerful way to open up conversations and set shared expectations.

If you have any questions or would like support with any of the above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you

Mrs Miller and Miss Tong
