Year 1 Classes for September 2025
Dear parent / carer
As your children leave our Early Years and move into Key Stage One, we have reflected on their strengths and their needs as individuals and also as a year group. As a result, we have made the decision to create two new Year 1 classes for September. A significant amount of thought has gone into this by the Reception team, along with involvement from leaders in school. We are confident that we have created two class groups which will enable us and allow us to continue to meet the needs of your children in the next stage of their learning.
Over the course of the last few weeks, the children have spent time in their new groupings at various points throughout the course of the day. This has allowed any refinements to be made to the final class groupings for next year.
The Year 1 teachers for next year are Mrs Dunn and Mrs Davidson. They are very excited to have the chance to follow the children up into Year 1 and their new classes! Mrs Berkeley, Mrs McPherson and Miss Burn will also be moving up with the children, providing a range of support across Year 1. So the children will be incredibly well supported by a team who know them very well indeed! Mrs Baldwin who currently works in Year 1 will also continue in the new Year 1 team.
You will find out later today who your child’s teacher will be for Year 1. Your children will all then spend next Tuesday, the 1st July, in their new classrooms with their teacher for Year 1.
